Idea

Thousands of people pass away every day, but there’s no place on the web to store information about those people for generations to come. We aim to preserve everlasting memory about any person in much detail forever.

Solution

Solution

Our first mission is to store everything that’s possible – starting from the favorite color or movie to the DNA data. This easily turns into thousands of attributes for a single person. The Wiki format is not something that is convenient here, so the solution was to build a flexible attribute system.

Storing data is actually just a start – the project aims to makes it a social process. This not only means that anyone can contribute information, photos, and videos to the person’s memory, which is moderated by close relatives. We also left some space for a comment section along with memorial announcements and anniversaries.

The huge issue is that cemeteries don’t have internal maps, so we aim to build those from our data as sometimes you can forget where someone is buried. Big amounts of data also let us build things like a family tree.

The big part of this project is showing the history of our times – deplorable accidents like acts of terrorism in Paris and Orlando. Lists of people that passed away in those events are published later on, so younger generations could learn this information and honor the victims’ memory.

Our mission is to offer people a place where they can see the coverage of such events and get support from other website users.
